I don't know if there was a bad batch of parts, a fundamental design flaw or what, but whatever the problem, it's killing people's devices. My Ionic bit it a few weeks ago. Same story as many, many posts I see on here: One day it's working, next it's black screen and dead. You try the troubleshooting and get nowhere and if it's out of warranty, there's not a lot of point in trying to call in for help. I've been a big Fitbit supporter for years now, with multiple devices, bands, etc., but this is the end for me. Seeing this many users with the same problem indicates a systemic issue here, one that's not being addressed, and that means there's not a lot of point in buying a replacement that will also likely die just out of warranty. I thought about a Versa 2, but am afraid the same thing will happen with it, so it's off to a different vendor. I'll keep my old Charge 2 until it dies, but after that it will be no more Fitbit products for me. This really makes me sad, believe it or not. I love these devices, but I'm not going to keep shelling out $200+ every 14 months or so to have one.

It's great to see you around @Jim_from_Powell. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience in the Forums.
I appreciate the troubleshooting you've followed and for letting me know that you have a Charge 2 now. Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this with your watch, our Support team reviews each case individually and the option provided is based in the Fitbit Warranty.
If you still would like to continue troubleshooting, please restart your watch and continue checking if it works properly after this.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Apple watch is the way to go. It does way more and lasts way longer. My ionic died after one year. My wife's apple watch is going on 4 years and works flawlessly
