I've had my Ionic since early 2018 without too many issues. I use it mostly for tracking my runs and syncing them to Strava. Over the past month or so every time I start a run the device takes forever to find a satellite. I usually have to start the run and find that it finally located me about 10 minutes in. I started it about 10 minutes early for my last race but it still only found me well after the race had started. This is no good for me. At a similar time syncing my runs to Strava have also stopped working also. I've tried everything including removing the apps from my phone and adding them back.
I'm running version 27.72.1.9.

It’s good to see you in the community, @Rumpfuttock.
Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to resolve the issue. I understand how you are feeling about this situation. I recommend confirming if you've tried the following:
1. Restart your watch: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
2. Force quit, and reopen the Fitbit app to refresh the connection with your device.
3. On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
4. Restart your phone.

Regarding the issue with Strava, please check the following:
- Verify that you don't have any pending updates for the Strava app in the Gallery.
- Confirm you've linked both applications properly by following these steps.
- Verify you have enabled all permissions in the Gallery.
- Make sure you sync your device and wait a few moments for updates.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. I did everything you list, although I've done most of it before. I have now tried the GPS again and walked for 5 minutes and then stood still for 5 minutes without the satellite finding me. I had to start the run without it linking and I cannot tell when it finally found me as there is no map on the Fitbit.
Still nothing syncing with Strava no matter how many times I authorise it. Bluetooth is always connected and my fitbit syncs with my phone all the time.
I have a strong feeling that something has changed ie an update. I look forward to the next update to see if it fixes anything.
