Ionic screen brightness dull even on Max brightness setting

I have just noticed i could barely see my Ionic screen. I know the Settings menu has the Brightness setting so I cycled through the opions and Dim and Auto barely registers, Normal I am sure in pitch black would be OK, but Max is just about visible..I am guessing my Fitbit has developed a fault and needs a return?

I have performed a Shutdown and restart. I have also just kicked off a Factory Reset...Will see if that makes a difference and to rule out the obvious fixes.

I purchased two Fitbit Ionics 18 months ago for Christmas. My wife and I have enjoyed them but about two weeks ago her screen started to get lines in it and then the display quit. She called support and the only outcome was a coupon for a replacement Fitbit. The same issue began happening to me last week and I also called support.

This issue is prevalent on the support blogs and across the internet. I dont think its acceptable that $500 worth of watches fail after only 18 months. I hope this is not how Fitbit wants to be known.

Agreed. My replacement watch is starting to fail. Again. It only was replaced in December. My screen is no longer displaying stats and keeps flickering. Yet it still syncs fine and updates my phone. Really weird. Very frustrating and disappointing.

And that bloody little knob clip thing on the band that keeps calling off.

Love the app and software of Fitbit, but the ionic is simply an inferior and unreliable product.

I have the same problem. I’ve reluctantly done a factory reset but it’s got so bad I can hardly read the screen and I have pronounced it dead. There was no shock.    Definitely hardware failure. It’s 15 months old and out of warranty but since this is not an isolated incident is there a replacement policy?

unfortunately it seems that FitBit doesnt care about its customers and is focused on turning out sub-par products for immediate revenue.  this strategy will not last as eventually the customer base will find a more reliable product.

Remains to be seen. I’ll agree with you if no solution is offered but let’s see how good customer service is. I’ve enjoyed the functionality but will certainly look elsewhere for upgrade if we can’t sort this.

I can only recommend leaving your Fitbit in a drawer for a few days to completely drain, that was my experience and it seemed to teach it a lesson and brighten up again.
