Hi. My sons ionic screen seems to have frozen. It still has the time etc on but wont respond to touch. The green light on the back is flashing. Buttons work. Not very tech minded so not sure what to do.

Hello @Maiders81 welcome to the Community Forums! It's a pleasure to assist you with the inconvenience experienced with your son's Ionic device.

Seems odd that the screen of your son's device isn't responding, thanks for the details that were shared with me in your post. If you haven't already done so and because the buttons of the device are working, please try to restart the Ionic following the next steps:

  1. Press and hold the back and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If you still have issues with your device, turn it off and turn it back on. For more information, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around.

Thanks for your response.  Now we have nothing on screen. Charged incase it was low on charge . Nothing is working. No screen on and no way to tell if its charging or not.

You're welcome @Maiders81, sorry for the delay in responding your post.

Thanks for the details that were shared, sorry to know that your device isn't responding anymore. I want to suggest you our factory reset procedure, which is completely different than our restart process. To do so, please try the following steps:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Take in consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

I'll be here if you need further assistance. Keep me posted.

@Maiders81 , this is a common behavior that tons of other users are experiencing. Basically, be the ionic is dead as explained in other posts.

I've tried that and nothing. Still a blank screen no signs of any life in it at all.

My Ionic is also locked up and I tried what you said in here and that does not work.  What else can I do to reset my watch?
