Ionic screen glitch

My Ionic's display is glitching out. You can see there are little lines going down the display, it's turning different colors, and to add on to that there are green lines in the background and sometimes it just looks like it's melting all in to a bunch of lines.

Can anyone help me?

How did you make out sending it back?  My Ionic just started with the screen issues a few weeks ago.

Hi,  I purchased my ionic in March 18 and all of a sudden today my ionic screen became blur and lost colour. Initially the screen became black and the writing was blue with some lines across the screen but now the screen just seems to be black and white.  I tried restarting the device as well as changing the clock face but nothing helped. Can you please assist as I love using my fitbit to track my daily activity and currently I feel as if a part of me is missing.

Sincerely Aadil

I did an online chat with customer support.  After having to go through a process of resetting the device they agreed to replace under warranty.  They are shipping it out today.  I would do that, they will walk you through some steps in an attempt to correct the issue but if that does not work they will then check warranty status.   Good luck.  Frank

My watch is having these problems now, only support refuses to replace the watch because I can't prove I bought it from an authorized retailer. Despite that they can see my serial number has only ever been attached to my account.

Here's a picture I took during a support chat

Forgot to mention, I did a factory reset and all with instructions provided by support. The screen is still haywire and started after the charger disconnected, reconnected very briefly and disconnected again.

Mine just started glitching out a lot worse after the most recent update

Yesterday my Ionic screen started ghosting and showing lines. It's the replacement after I had a water leak issue. If it was a computer or TV this would clearly be a screen failure. Suspect the same for a fitbit. The UI still works although it's sometimes hard to read. I've tried shutting down and restarting. No change.

This is exactly what is happening  to mine right now. Did they give you a fix for it?

This is from water damage and a faulty seal. It's happened to a couple watches of mine as well as most of my friends. Typically within about 8 months like clockwork.

But have never worn it in the shower, pool or even really have gotten it
wet washing my hands. And for cleaning I usually just wipe it down with a
damp cloth. I learned my lesson about Fitbit’s definition of “water
resistant” with my charge hr. I figured the “waterproof” ionic would date a
little better.

They ended up sending me the a replacement one since they saw I tried resetting it several times beforehand. The mystery remains why the ionic starts glitching up.
I read others who had an issue right after an update as well. Others didn’t specify whenever theirs started to glitch.

What sucks is this is becoming an increasingly common issue and they completely deny you service if you can't provide proof of purchase. Even though they are able to see that you are the only person to ever use the watch.

I just got the blurry screen today after charging. I did notice that the charge before did not last as long as usual and am wondering if it is a power issue.

On my Ionic the screen issues looked like tearing and stripes. On a
computer I'd say it was a failing screen or bad connections between the
screen and the electronics. Fitbit has to know about this issue. The
aggravating thing with their support is that they act like it's a brand new
thing every time. I finally videoed the screen with my phone and sent them
the vid to show what was going on. Why can't they believe their customers
when we have an issue.

At this point your watch is getting ready to totally fail and become unreadable.. Once it does this it keeps getting worse.  There is no fix.
