I was wearing my Ionic when I reached over to pickup something and the screen flipped open (like a flip phone) and only hinged on the wrist band side that has "Fitbit". This is the first time this has happened. I have owned and worn my Ionic since July 2018. It still works but I'm worried that if the screen completely comes off it may stop working. Other than losing the clasp and the irregular battery charging as many have commented on, I have not had any other issues with my Ionic until now.
Please any idea on what to do to fix this besides taping it? I'm wearing a towel-like wrist band over it to keep it in place but then I have to pull back the wrist band every time I need to glance at my Ionic screen. Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

Sadly this is not an isolated issue. Have a look (if your dare) at the dedicated multi-page thread on this issue. Another quality failing of these mass produced cheaply manufactured devices!
Best you could do is use a tiny amount of superglue or 5 min Araldite. Perhaps even a tiny bead of silicone??? Being careful not to allow any to compromise the LCD screen. The device is no longer waterproof or even sweatproof unfortunately. They were never adequately designed for water sports anyway.
It makes me laugh to think these are marketed as safe for full immersion watersports!
I would also spend a few dollars on a TPU silicone surround that may help keep the screen in place.
Unfortunately your device is effectively broken. Best you can do is limp along with it.
Hear are the TPU covers I mentioned. This from eBay Australia, but you can look closer to home. I purchased one several weeks ago. I'm scared to remove it incase the screen pops up. Lol! But I'll have to when the tempered glass screen protector(s) turns up to replace the film protector I currently have on the screen.

Thanks for your reply. The Fitbit Team contacted me via email same day and requested additional information including pictures of the damage and where I purchased the product. I sent the requested information with pictures (see attached). I've purchased all my Fitbit products at Fitbit.com. Today I got a reply from the Fitbit Team offering me a 25% discount to purchase a new Fitbit since the one year warranty expired in July 2019. This frustrates me because I've had to replace 2 previous Fitbits because the product was damaged between 1-2 years from the purchase date and each time the solution offered was a 25% discount to purchase a new Fitbit. Spending a couple of hundred dollars r more every 1-2 years on a tracker does not work for me.
Please any suggestion from the community on how I can repair the damage is appreciated. The damage is external since the Fitbit Ionic still works i.e. tracks as can be seen in the pictures. Thanks.
