Hi!
Went for swim some 4-5 days ago - normally I take it off, but this time I didn’t. On day 3 the screen started getting lines and becoming discoloured. I performed a number of turn off/turn on + full resets but with no luck. Day 5 now - the screen does not work at all but still charges and syncs to phone. This is my second ionic, this one is approx. 12 months old, and I have been extremely pleased with the performance thus far. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi. I am having a similar problem with my ionic. The watch was 80% charged last Friday, then suddenly went blank and won’t come back on. I’ve tried all of the reset options from the support threads, tried charging it again, nothing. I can’t even get the Fitbit logo to come on. It’s like the watch just died. Very disappointing. Is there anything you can do?

Hello,
I was scrolling through the issues and this sounds exactly like what has happened to my ionic. My last sync time was just over an hour ago, battery medium but no screen display. Have tried a reset but still nothing. No green light on the back either.
Thanks

Hi
My Ionic had similar problems to those described above - first the heartrate sensor went wrong, more than doubling my usual heartrate while at rest. I contacted the helpdesk and carried out a factory reset - but the heartrate monitoring was still a long way off being correct, then a couple of days later the step-counting failed, and while it was still mostly possible to read the time from the watch, the screen began to fail too, until finally no information was showing at all. I put the device on charge again for around 2 days until the screen came back to life to show the time, but no other functionality. The watch will no longer charge. The watch is nearly 3 years old, and out of warranty.
As a gesture of "goodwill" I have been sent a discount code by Fitbit, and I thought that despite the failure of the Ionic and previous problems with a Surge, I'd buy the Sense - however when I read the smallprint that accompanies the discount code I see that it does not apply to the newer models, or in fact any current models that have built in gps and heart rate monitoring - the very things which I used most on the Ionic. I therefore have little goodwill left towards Fitbit - this is an expensive hobby if, when out of warranty the watches are nonrepairable, and there is no applicable discount to replace a failed unit with anything that provides similar features.
