Ionic stopped reading heartrate

I received my ionic as a Christmas gift. After 3 days the heart rate reading was stuck at 84. I noticed the optical green lights were steadily  blinking so I restarted the watch. Once it came back on the green lights no longer come on and the heart rate reads —. I’d like to have the heart rate as it is helpful for my sleep tracking. Thanks for any advice.

Make sure in settings that heartrate is set to 'on'.  Sometimes, for some reason it can be set back to 'off'.
