Ionic stuck in update

I have read a number of topics to try and fix my new Ionic.  My previous Ionic got hot and stopped working - thus thank you Fitbit for the replacement it arrived in record time fully charged..  However, I've followed the directions provided and the Ionic gets stuck after making connection and says its time for an update.  From that point forward it has the Fitbit logo and that's it.  I've followed the directions and after 12 hours I used the factor reset method and started all over again, deleting the app, turning off the phone, reloading the app, blue tooth and all the different tricks provided in this wonderful forum.  On my second try, I left the Ionic and phone untouched for 24.  Same thing, FitBit app on my phone (IOS) says "Setting up Ionic - Installing"   and all I have is the Fitbit logo on the Ionic.  None of the buttons change anything.  What do I do now, attempt another reset?

@BBRun Welcome to the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.

It seems like you're unable to perform a factory reset because your Ionic is showing the Fitbit logo. If you're unable to perform a normal factory reset please follow these steps to do it:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, continue to use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware (See How do I update my Fitbit device?).

Let me know how it goes.
