Ionic touchscreen not working

Hi all, 

 

I've had my fitbit Ionic for almost 1.5 yrs, no issues. Last week I used the swim exercise feature for the first time (where it disables the touch screen) and now my touch screen will NOT work at all. The buttons work and the wrist-screen wake feature still works as well as all the normal steps/hr/sleep etc.. functions. 

 

I've seen a few posts about this happening-was wondering if anyone came to a resolution? I have done a few restarts as well as a factory reset without any luck. 

 

I love these products and have been a user for a long time. I find it a bit frustrating that my only option is to buy a whole new watch with a discount when I didn't do anything against the use of the product. I'm also a little worried about using the swim function on future watches.
