Ionic tracked 24,000 steps while not being worn

My Ionic tracked 24,000 steps while I slept and it was not even being worn. I looked at it, and it’s literally counting about 1000 steps every 20 minutes just sitting on the dresser. I tried resetting it twice (bottom right and left button simultaneously), but it is still racking up steps. Any thoughts?

After getting nearly 60,000 steps a day, every day, with no solution, I decided to return my Fitbit. I sat it on the counter and the clerk saw it was counting steps just sitting there. Needless to say, she said it was malfunctioning and exchanged it. No more problems but a great week of stats.

Is a fan near by or some kind of vibraton source? It will cause false steps
