Ionic tracking too many steps

Hi,

This weekend, my Fitbit Ionic stopped tracking any steps or my heart rate at all. Using the forums I tried troubleshooting but ended up just performing a factory reset. Since then the fitbit has been tracking every movement (and non-movements) of my hand as a step. e.g. I woke up this morning with over 4,000 steps despite going to sleep before midnight. I have switched the watch settings from non-dominant to dominant wrist and it did work temporarily but then the device began logging a lot of steps again. I am now on over 8,000 steps despite not leaving my flat yet today. Yesterday I had similar problems and performed another factory reset (have now done around 3 in total).

Any suggestions would be welcome. Otherwise I am still in my European warranty period so will be sending the device for repair / replacement.

Dan
