Ionic turning off / on repeatedly, followed by battery only lasting a few hours - OS Issue?

I have a year old Ionic, that has recently been giving some odd exercise results, and suddenly started to constantly turn off and on, before dying from a dead battery. I was getting 0% battery displayed whilst it was failing to charge. A reboot (left and bottom right button) got it going again, and it charged to 99% (wouldn't get to 100%), but the battery only lasted a few hours. Spoke to the support team and did a full reset but without any improvement.

 

Has anyone else had the same......is it a coincidence that it started playing up since the latest OS upgrade?

Mine just started constantly restarting just yesterday. So far I've been trying restarts and factory resets going through the whole update process but as soon as I start touching or pressing buttons it starts restarting itself again. I did just get an update for the android app though so I hope that is a step towards a solution.
