Ionic vibrates during exercise

ANSWERED

Ever since I updated my Ionic a week or two ago, it keeps randomly vibrating during my workouts. I think it has to do with new Active Minutes feature, as it seems to buzz every time my HR goes into a different zone (eg cardio to peak). I find this very annoying, and would really like it to stop vibrating during my workouts.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @bwestphal97, welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared. Just as mentioned in your post, your device will vibrate during your workouts due to the Active Zone minutes feature of your Ionic. That said, to learn more about this, please check the information that's specified on our help article: What are Active Zone Minutes or active minutes on my Fitbit device? and let me know if you have any additional questions. In the QuickSettings menu, you'll find the Do not Disturb feature of your Ionic, please try it and let me know if your device continue vibrating during your workouts.

I'll be around.

Stupidest design ever. Had my ionic for 3 years. Updated last night. Smashed it on the floor out of sheer frustrations from that stupid vibration. Interrupted my workout for 45 minutes trying to stop it.  Whoever thought this was a good idea should be fired. Notifications off and everything. Every 60 seconds a vibration.

you ruined a good product with this.

Hi - I finally solved this.

1.  On the watch, select Exercise -> Workout

2.  Select settings icon (the little cog)

3.  Find "Zone Notifications" and turn it off

It should be off by default.  It was bugging me so much!

Thank you so much!  The constant vibrating during exercise has been driving me crazy. This should definitely be something you have to turn on, not a default you have to figure out how to turn off.

To clarify, you need to change this setting on each form of exercise (run, yoga, pilates, etc.). But the process is the same.

Oh thank you this was driving me nuts during my morning yoga sessions. I even checked in with Fitbit for help and got nothing. So appreciate this! Zone Notifications OFF! Looks like you need to change it for every exercise you do.

thanks
