Ionic will not charge

My Ionic battery was low and I tried to charge it while I still had a display. It now flashes 0% on the screen and there is no change, whether I leave it connected to the power cable for a long time, connecting to either wall outlet or computer. I have tried the recommended cleaning steps and have attempted to reset it.
