Ionic won't move past pin

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Ionic doesn't  seem to be able to move past the pin screen. Pressing any button or swiping in any direction brings up the pin input screen, but even entering the pin has no effect. I am unable to see steps, get to the exercise screen or do any function. However, on the app, steps are recorded as is sleep active minutes etc. The wallet also still works. Any one else have a similar issue?

Have you tried looking at the following help article regarding device lock?

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon (User-added image) > your device image.
  2. Tap Device Lock.
  3. Enter pin (this may be the pin you use to unlock your phone).
  4. Set device lock to Disabled.

Thanks for trying. When I try to follow thise instructions, there isn't an
option to tap device lock. When I look in settings it says device lock is
disabled, yet apart from the time face, the only other face that comes up
is the pin input pad.

No luck so far. I think the watch has some software bug. I note that it
doesn't seem to be able to connect other than for syncing purposes.

Thank you for your reply @MustangB, I've seen that other users where able to access their phone's pin code to unlock the Ionic's display when they're using and Android device, could you please try this option and check if you're able to unlock it? Then try following the steps mentioned previously to disable this function.

Keep us posted.

Mate, in the original post I noted that the only thing I can access in the
pin input screen. Inputting the pin just leaves the screen open with the
pin input, but nothing further happens. If I swipe the screen or push
buttons either nothing happens, or the screen toggles between the pin input
screen and the normal front screen (clock and icons for steps, heart rate
and calories). As there doesn't seem to be a means of turning the fitbit
off and restarting it, I am letting the battery die so that hopefully the
dodgy setting will rest on restart.

Hi. Thanks for your involvement. The support team did send me an email with
restart info (although I note they seemed to think I had a Versa, not an
Ionic). I effectively achieved the same outcome by allowing the battery to
run down completely. On recharging, the fault disappeared. Cheers, Bob B.
