Ionic won't pair

Hello. Per the title, I recently picked this watch up and tried to pair to with both an s8+ and ipad. The former gives me four digit code, then says 'connecting' before spitting back to the account menu. The latter also gives a four digit code, then comes back with error 500.

Now, I've tried:

- turning bluetooth off and on, pairing on and off inside and outside the app

- resetting the watch three times with devices off

- ensuring no other bluetooth devices in area

- formatting manually with vibration method + restarting phone

- leaving the watch alone for 48 hours (as it had a previous owner)

- using mobile network rather than wifi

- uninstalling the app and creating new accounts.

None of this has worked in the past five days. What does error 500 mean on the ipad? And why are both devices unable to connect with the watch? Is this a common defect issue with Fitbit products? This is disappointing, unless I've missed a step I'm not aware of.

Can any fellow users help?

None of the above was required. I woke up the next morning, tried again doing nothing different to before and boom, it seemed to work.

Disappointing that this is a common issue of the Fitbit product line, having seen the number of '500' search results. Wasted a lot of my precious time on this beautiful planet trying to set it up in the past week or so.

Do a search of the iOS board for the term 500, @Athletefanatic .In short it means to use the S8 to setup the ionic.

Have the stuff you tried. I don't understand.

Have you looked at the help doc

Remove the ionic from both the phone and iPad's Bluetooth settings. if they have been paired.

Let's make sure we have all updates for the phone and the fitbit app.

Then clear the Fitbit app cache then kill the app, swipe any unneeded apps out of memory, then restart the phone.

Restart the ionic and let's do the setup through the Fitbit app .
