Ionic won't sync and is displaying the wrong time

My Ionic won't sync with my iPhone SE and displays the wrong time. When I woke up today the time on my Ionic was 1hr 4min behind and now, 3hrs later, its 1hr 20 minutes behind. How can that be?? It also happened yesterday but when I synced it the problem was solved. Now I can't even sync it. The battery is full so that can't be the problem. I tried turning the tracker on and off, my phone on and off, the bluetooth on and off and I tried removing the Ionic from my bluetooth connections on my phone and from the Fitbit app as was suggested in this forum but now it won't connect to my phone at all so its pretty much useless. I can't sync it with my phone and on top of that it's showing complete nonsense time. Any help?

Hey!

Well I took it back and I guess they couldn't fix it because they gave me a new watch. I think is was a defective item.

Tri10P is your replacement ionic still working, read other users have had 2-3 replacements always one issue or he other, would like to know if your device is still working, as I am close to returning for replacement! I love the watch but these constant niggling issues are beyond ridiculous! Now it’s not able to vibrate, or able to load music!

RMA replacement is that the whole device replaced?

So to your questions. Yes the replacement Ionic is working just fine.  Doing everything it's supposed to.  I think I even went through the OS3. 0 update without any hiccups.

In terms of the RMA replacement, it was JUST the watch, no box, no wrist bands, no charger.  Just the watch in a plastic bag.  I had to move my band from the old Ionic to the new.  None of this was an issue to me as they replaced the part that was broken.  No more, no less.  The process was very painless as well, so I'll give Fitbit credit foe that.

The secret to how I fixed the syncing issue was to make sure I was wising the latest update to the FitBit app.  It seemed that once that was done it started behaving properly.

Good luck..

I feel your pain as this is my third IONIC and it just started having the symptoms again.  Clock wrong, wont sync, Brick mode, Bluetooth never ready, moms spaghetti.  I just had mine replaced last September because of this same issue and I feel like I'm so ready for another smartwatch at this point.  It is troublesome getting it to pair or even sync.  I was really hoping they would have a fix for this as it started only after an update early last summer.  I have two friends who have also had this issue as well.  Here's a temporary fix that works for me and I have to do it every few days to keep it syncing. (DO NOT RELY ON ITS ALARM, as it can change to the wrong time at any random point.)  I have to remove it from my Bluetooth devices on my phone, then repair it under the Bluetooth classic, then for some reason everything starts working for a few days.   As for the replacement device, its just the watch face, no straps, cords or even box.  Mine came in a plastic bag with a fitbit label.  (And it took 9 weeks to get...)  hope some of this helps some.

@SullivanM08 It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry for the late response and I'm sorry to hear that your Ionic is displaying the wrong time. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

I would like to follow up and would like to know if the issue persists or if your Ionic is showing the correct time and syncing properly now. In the meantime, please make sure that the phone you sync your Ionic with, has the correct time also.

@WillAlberry Thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit forums! I'm sorry for the late response also. However, since your Ionic is not displaying the correct time nor syncing properly, please try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. Once you've done the steps listed in the article, monitor your tracker and see if the time gets corrected and it syncs your data propetrly.

Keep me posted! 😀

FitBit was kind enough to replace my Ionic and it had no problems until now. It bricked! Tried 3 different ionic chargers, different wall chargers, resetting, letting it charge for hours. Nothing. Dead. Will never buy Fitbit again!

I have exactly the same problem. Watch wont sync, and is displaying wrong time. I have tried all of the steps, described. My iphone has correct time, Bluetooth is working, and all apps are updated.

What to do. I do not want to try factory reset, as my watch bricked last time I tried.
