Is fit bit ionic going to have support for chest straps bluetooth support?

I have a less then 50BPM, when sitting usually around 53 (sometimes drops lower), when i stand it rises to 70's, and i need a chest strap for my High Intensity Interval Training.

Years ago i had a stress test done with a cardio doctor for an operation i was having, it was not heart related but some reason they told me i needed to get the stress test done before the operation could happen.  Anyways, at that time maybe 6-7 years ago my resting heart rate (standing keep in mind), was normal according to the doctor, i ran on the treadmill and it went from normal resting to a normal active BPM, however after he was done with that part of the test i had to just relax and go back down to a normal resting heart rate.... long story short, i was not allowed to be discharged from the hospital until it went back down to normal, and it took 2 IV's and 2 hours later to go back from active down to resting... doctor didn't know why, he never saw anything like that before and only told me it was maybe because i was dehydrated.

Well now I am uninsured with medical insurance, but went to a local community clinic that is for people like me because of an ear ache/infection i was having (still am, its only been a couple of days).  My bmp was 53, i was shocked (my blood pressure was normal).. i started a paleo diet 2 months ago.

point is i went home to my parents and they have a machine that checks your blood pressure and beats per min, with air and such like a nurse would at a doctors office... when sitting down i am 54 or lower, when i stand 10 seconds later im 70+, and my heart feels fluttering sometimes after i workout....

I want a fitbit, but i feel i need the most accurate readings... my hearts i think is messed up and i need a serious answer for this.  or at least help with what you guys recommend me get for a fitness tracker for my situation..

I first was going to get a fitbit after my psych professor in college recommended everyone get it for tracking and recording sleep and sleep stages, which is one other reason i want one, but since my diet i also wanted it just in general for fitness.. but then 4 days ago at the doctor, this raised new concerns... I just got the money this weekend to buy a fitness tracker, but now my focus for one is:
1)heart rate monitoring

-stages of sleep

-exercise for HI IT

-able to pair data with a chest strap (like the MyZone MZ3)

2)sleep stage monitoring

-most accurate and best, expecially for people that have a super low BPM like i am having...

3)able to record data down, just in case i do need to see a doctor about my heart... something they can use, detailed data... keep in mind i have no medical insurence, im also 27 going on 28 years of age, and now im 199 pounds, 6'2".  So any information that can save me multipul trips to a doctor (if i need to see one) will help drastically!

Please guys, dont be fitbit bias here for me, please consider and tell me what you guys to be the best for my health conditions... please... if its fitbit product great, but from what i know currently they dont at this moment support chest strap pairing..... but please recommend me a product that does if fitbit wont be upgrading firmware to support it in the near future... please..

Here is your serious answer. Find some way, a free clinic or something, to get your heart checked out. You've stated multiple times you have a serious issue, and that's nothing a fitness tracker will address. At least, consider giving up HIIT until you do. HIIT is designed to take your heart to its limit, and it sounds like at the moment, the healthy limit is unknown.

Sorry, if that's not the answer you wanted. There really aren't any consumer-grade affordable devices that are medically accurate.

None of us know Fitbit's future plans, but personally I don't think they have any intention in allowing external HRMs to be paired with their devices. There are feature requests on the suggestions board but many of these requests are simply ignored. Although this probably isn't a feature I would use, it's still a shame such feature isn't supported as it's nice to have the choice.

As for a device that does support external HRMs, I've seen many recommend Garmin fitness trackers. I haven't personally used one but I believe they use the standard ANT+ interface.

One thing to bear in mind though is that none of these products are medical grade. So if your condition is indeed life threatening, I would be a little hesitant relying on such a device.

TL:DR, just go to the two questions i have posted right underneath this 1st paragraph and just answer those directly, if you want the full detail of why its so important for me personally, feel free to read the full post.

I want the ionic, and there is only ONE things stopping me from buying this product, instead of continuing for another week to look at competitors.  my heart is not normal, i may have Bradycardia or some other condition.  To make the post short ask the main question(s) here, if you want more in depth detail, you can read more after these questions:

1) Is it possible to override the fitbit heart rate data manually for a specific time? such as when you workout for 30mins, those 30mins can you use your chest strap data, and input that data into your fitbit ionic/app in the phone to override the data that was gathered from the ionic during that same time you worked out?

2) I once read on this forum yesterday but cant find the post, but someone was able to pair there external HRM chest strap, to strava.  and then pair the fitbit ionic to strava.  and they were able to input the data gathered from the chest strap that was inside strava into the fitbit Ionic.   is this possible??!??!??!?!?

please answer one of these 2 questions, i hope there is a gimic fix to this unability to pair ionic to external HRM directly

Years ago i went to the doctor for stress test, without consern about my heart but was required to do for a surgery i was having.  My resting HR standing was normal, then to active was normal.  But active to resting took 2 hours and 2 I.V.'s later in order for the cardio-doc to be allowed to discharge me, he had no clue and never seen that before ever in his years of practice but just said i may have been dehydrated.

Fast forward to today, 3 weeks ago my Psych Professor recommended fitbit for the tracking of sleep stages, and the importance of sleep on our hearth and our hormones/neurotransmitters.  Me being a Psych Major really was intrigued and was looking into a FitBit product to buy when my Pell Grant money came in (was buying it for educational purposes, really sleep is important for learning/storing memory/reducing stress which also effects learning and focus)

Well now last week i had a problem with my ear, went to the county clinic in Dallas because i have no health insurance (yay), but the nurse checked my blood pressure and heart rate, it was 53!!! i went to my parents place a couple days later and checked with an machine they use which is medical grade to check for heart rate and blood pressure, it uses air and such like a nurse would for a pump that wraps around your arm.  My blood pressure is okay (sometimes a little high), but my heart rate was 50, sometimes even a little lower in 48!!! this was when sitting, i would stand and test 10 seconds later, it would rise to 60's and sometimes 70's... then i would sit back down and 10 seconds later test, it dropped back to the 50's... this is not normal!

So i already had intrest in buying a fitbit ionic, however now i feel i need to use a chest strap when i do my HIIT (high intesisity interval training) from a diet i started 2 months ago.  I am hoping my heart very healthy because of this diet, but i really don't know because i sometimes feel heart fluttering after working out.. point is i want the most accurate, and i have no medical insurgency to see a specialist and buy some SUPER EXPENSIVE over priced medical grade strap and watch (if they even exist).

I would want a fitbit for sleep and regular everyday use, but when i workout for those 30mins every other day, i would like to use a chest strap HRM, but also be able to input data or override the data of the fitbit after i do my work out, is this possible???? i understand they have no way to pair, but can it be override?

No override possible. Honestly, I would be concerned about someone with heart problems doing HIIT more than finding an optimal tracker. From your posts, it sounds like you have an un-diagnosed medical condition...

I understand your concern about HIIT activity for me (trust me i even am concerned)... but i also hope my heart rate is very healthy because of the diet... but ive no idea because i dont have money, or insurence to see a specialist to get a diagnosis.. but years ago when i was under my parents insurence and went to get that one stress test done at the doctors office, i was not diagnosed with anything, just was something strange the doctor never saw before.

Sorry for your problems. I have a scard left ventricle and atrial fibrillation. I take beta blockers, blood thinners and cholesterol lowering tablets. I have always had low blood pressure. I also have a low resting heart rate. I use Fitbit ionic every day. When was last taken into hospital with my heart problems. The fitbit was with in 1 bpm of the paramedics machine. Has my heart rate was over 250bpm,so I was rush into resus unit of my local A and E. My point is I don't think you need a chest strap has my fitbit has already saved my life. I still go for bike rides I have done 16 miles this morning. With a max bpm of 193. Get your health and meds sorted and then get on with your life. I have other acute issues but so long as I remember my meds and keep healthy and sensible eating and drinking I'm fine. 🤗
