Need help installing Spotify

Updating is an exercise in either futility or random succes, that is if you can ever actually see an update button

According to the browser dashboard I have firmware version 27.33.1.30. The iPhone app says Version 33.1.30 as does the WIndows 10 app.

Since the newest firmware is 27.70.7.14 for OS 4.1 why do I not get an option to update?

I would love to install Spotify on this thing and while I can see the App I can't install it until both watch and phone apps are fully updated.

As an update I just did a hard reset and now it is updating.  I will add more updates as I go through this process.  After it is done I will be getting an Apple Watch once I have the money.  Just hopefully the Ionic won't set fire to me while I am sleeping....

Yep I did. And quite a number of community and Fitbit pages about the various issues.

I tried everything that they said to try with no results right up until the hard reset.

To be honest I don’t believe that a hard reset every few weeks is a very good Troubleshooting technique and shouldn’t be used as standard practice.

In this case it did work.

It took me another few hours to get the GPS to connect but I now have Spotify working on the Fitbit.

It has only frozen a couple of times since and GPS seems to work after 2-3 minutes of waiting most times so fingers crossed I can get some use out of it before I buy an Apple Watch and throw this thing in the bin.

First world problems...
Since the software update, it's now tougher to find and start the fitness tracking apps.  At 51 my eyes are not as sharp as they used to be.  I used to i.d. fitness activities by their picture. Now I'm squinting as I hold the watch to my nose. Thanks for that Fitbit.

Second and even more frustrating, I used to press the lower right button to start the timers for: running, hiking, workouts, rounds of golf, etc... Now I need to repeatedly tap a tiny spot on the screen to activate the timer.  There's no positive feedback with this "button" and it's already NOT WORKED on several occasions.  I thought I'd tapped the "button" only to look down later and the **ahem** thing isn't running.
Great job fixing stuff that's not that broken.  If you recall, your grandmothers recommended against this sort of behavior because they had more life experience and common sense...
