Is it possible to transfer music from an Iphone or Android phone?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought an ionic tracker for running & want to put running music on it.  My music is I tunes on an I pad & I phone & I don’t use a laptop.  I am not a techy & need to know the easiest way to get music onto the Ionic in simple easy to understand language.

I can’t do converting songs to MP3 & I do not want to make monthly payments to Deezer.  Is there anyway I can purchase albums to go onto an Android Samsung phone which I can transfer via the phone to Ionic.

I have found this tracker the most difficult thing to set up, any info for getting music onto the tracker in the easiest way would be appreciated.

Hi @churchv,

Based on your requirements, I don't think that is currently possible.

First, you'd need access to a PC or Mac desktop (no phone or ipad transfer .

Second, you'd need the audo files in MP3 to transfer them. There is no connector between the Fitbit app and iTunes directly..

The only other options are Deezer and Pandora, which you've already ruled out.

Sorry.

My understanding is that an Android Samsung phone cannot transfer any music via the phone to Ionic.

You will need a laptop or desktop computer and the Connect App.  Maybe see if a friend or relative can help set up an account on their computer -> so they can help you transfer some mp3s.  That might be a solution that would work.

But would agree the Fitbit method to transfer music is not simple nor intuitive nor fast.  It is actually very difficult and very time consuming for the average person to do.  Everything has to just perfect for the transfer to work properly.

You can also contact Tech Support to see if they have any other ideas.

Really there is no need to suffer in Frustration - simply call Tech Support at 877-623-4997 and get your Ionic replaced right now while you can
Many have followed this straightforward advice and now have a replacement Ionic - we all should have “zero tolerance” for any defective Ionic

A warm welcome to the Community @churchv! I appreciate the details that you've mentioned. Just as @WavyDavey and @Whistler888 have mentioned.

The only option to transfer music would be directly from a Mac or from a computer by following the steps on this article How do I listen to music and podcasts on my Fitbit watch?. The apps that you can use are Deezer and Pandora (If you live in the United States).

Here's the Ionic Product Manual, if you would like to take a look at it and find the tips that can help you using your watch.

I'll be around if you have any further question.
