My battery went bad and I am at 14 months of ownership, so it does go bad, is not replaceable, and I am out $300. Not great 😞

Nope and fitbit don’t care, maybe they will when customers stop buying, the penny seems to have dropped with apple

Erick cannot be serious.  I came here for the same reason that the Air Force person came here.  My beloved Fitbit Ionic is dead.  The warranty expired January 31, and my watch died yesterday (March 5).  What is the deal with a device lasting just over a year.  I feel the company programmed it to die just after the warranty expired.  It came out of nowhere.  Not happy at all.  My son's Apple Watch doesn't do this.  I suppose that's why Apple dominates this industry.

Received the Fitbit as a gift in Dec 2017 and it doesn't hold a charge anymore starting in March 2019. Barely 3 months after warranty, the watch craps out. Contact customer support only to be told nothing they can do but I get a discount to buy a new one. I appreciate the offer but no thanks. Fitbit batteries are defective and there is no responsility to resolve it.

Hi jjoonathan, many thanks for your link back in February to dismantling your Ionic which I have just found.  It is very timely as just yesterday my wife's Ionic started refusing to charge. I have been in electronics for around 45 years and a radio ham for 40, so smd stuff holds no terrors for me. Your pictures and description have given me all I need to have a crack at fixing her Ionic when I get back home from visiting the grandkids. I'll keep you posted on what I find.

As an aside, I very quickly got fed up with my own Ionic stopping recording exercises at random intervals and after reading some of the threads on the forum,  I retired it and bought a Suunto Spartan HR- it never misses a beat. My ionic is now just a fancy wrist-watch with heart sensor, and I will not be buying a fitbit anything again, nor will I recommend them to anyone else.

I have had my iPhone 7 Plus fo 4 years now and I charge it nightly.  The charge is good and never ever experience problems with it.  As for Fitbits, I am now disappointed to read about the issues with the Versa as I was told that is their cadillac.  If that is their cadillac why are they not improving as we do have enough stuff going to landfills, we need to have replaceable batteries not throw aways at $300 a pop lasting less than two years!  That is ridiculous so I guess everyone needs to rethink when their FitBit fails.

I disagree. I bought one on eBay refurbished. Brand new condition almost. Battery life states 4 days yet I’m having to charge mine basically every day because by 2nd day it’s at less than 50% and dies before end of night so doesn’t even last a full two days let alone four and I think I paid 180 for it. I’ve bought refurbished items before that worked great but this batter dies quick and that’s without exercise. I’m sure it would last less than a day cause of the gps which I still haven’t tested yet

We know batteries are rechargeable, but after using my ionic for a year the battery lasts less than 2 days instead of the 5 days it used to last before. In a couple of months it won’t event last a day. So we want to know if that battery is replaceable or is just stupid to buy products from Fitbit because they won’t last?

My One stopped holding a charge a couple years ago.    As soon as I stopped interfacing with Fit Bit it started holding a charge again.   I'm not sure if that would work with your device but it might be worth a try.    When my One finally croaks I will go with another company since I do NOT wish to use a wearable.  Good Luck!

Hi! Sorry English is not my first language. What do you mean by interfacing? My watch stop working already. Screen is black the whole time. You mean I should delete the app and let the watch rest for a while?

I stopped signing on to my dash board and no longer look at my steps, badges and all that information.  I have no idea why (I am not very good with technology) but as soon as I stopped signing on, my battery started holding it's charge for 10 days or more at a time.  I only charge it every 10 days or so now and it's doing fine.  I have a One (the small hand held device) and not a wearable so I don't know if this will work for the wearable but worth a try!  I only care about the number of miles I walk each day and how many stairs I climb so not signing on to my Dashboard doesn't bother me at all.  Hope this helps.

I bought my Fitbit Ionic on July 9, 2018 and it died on July 15th, 2019.  The unit will not charge and Fitbit support said there is nothing they can do.  They did offer a 25% discount, Fitbit can take there discount and stick it.  Fitbit doesn't even support the major banks in Canada for the tap feature they offer on their devices.  Don't waste your money.
