I would like to keep using my Ionic as a wristwatch despite having claimed the refund as offered in the recent recall. Is this possible?

Wouldn't you have to be the one to answer that, assuming you were willing to take the risk?

Hi @JohnnyRow it’s not really a question about me being willing to take the risk (I am) but more about the fact that Fitbit have made it impossible to connect / sync the Ionic with the app and, even though I only really want to use it as a watch, just setting the time seems to be impossible. I guess what I’m asking is is there a way round this?

The only way to set the time or date on any device is by syncing.

Hi @jurathedog you made the decision to claim the refund, so you're not going to be able to use the Ionic as anything - not even a watch. As @JohnnyRow said, you have to sync to get the time displayed, which is no longer possible. It seems as though you want the refund, but still want to keep the device and it doesn't work that way. Since you chose the refund, you no longer will be able to use the Ionic. There is no workaround for this. Click to read more fully the information about the recall.
