Ever since the last update which was months ago the buttons on the left side of the watch do nothing. I have not been receiving test messages or phone calls on my watch and I have to manually sync over and over again to get the watch and phone to communicate my step progress. This is my second Ionic and I feel for the price it should work properly. I have restarted phone and ionic, I have unpaired and repaired the two devices and my notifications are on. If I wanted just a watch I would have bought a Timex. Help please...

@nickkeith Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with your Ionic not receiving notifications and not syncing consistently. Thanks for restarting it and for unpairing and repairing your watch with your phone in order to sort this out.
What mobile device are you using? Is it showing under the list of supported devices?
Regarding the left button, since the new update now you have to tap and hold it to access the settings. Please try this and let me know if it works. Check if the notifications are on when you access these settings.
In the case it keeps not working, you could try doing a factory reset (go to your Settings app on our watch > About > Factory Reset). Note this will erase all the apps and music you have downloaded to your watch.
Once you have done this you should try setting again the notifications and check if syncing will work better.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

I'm glad to read the the factory reset helped you out to start fresh with your watch once again. I'm sure it will continue to work properly as it is now. Thanks for confirming the steps/workaround that helped you out, I'm sure this will be helpful for other users too.

If you are still having the same problem try doing a factory reset on the ionic. It has worked for mine and I hope it fixed it permanently.
