Left Button Not Working, Not Receiving Notifications, and Not Syncing Since Last Update

Ever since the last update which was months ago the buttons on the left side of the watch do nothing. I have not been receiving test messages or phone calls on my watch and I have to manually sync over and over again to get the watch and phone to communicate my step progress. This is my second Ionic and I feel for the price it should work properly. I have restarted phone and ionic, I have unpaired and repaired the two devices and my notifications are on. If I wanted just a watch I would have bought a Timex. Help please...

I ended up doing a Factory reset today, so far I am getting my notifications on the watch. Fingers crossed it will continue to work.

@nickkeith Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with your Ionic not receiving notifications and not syncing consistently. Thanks for restarting it and for unpairing and repairing your watch with your phone in order to sort this out.

What mobile device are you using? Is it showing under the list of supported devices

Regarding the left button, since the new update now you have to tap and hold it to access the settings. Please try this and let me know if it works. Check if the notifications are on when you access these settings.

In the case it keeps not working, you could try doing a factory reset (go to your Settings app on our watch > About > Factory Reset). Note this will erase all the apps and music you have downloaded to your watch.

Once you have done this you should try setting again the notifications and check if syncing will work better.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

I meant the right buttons on the phone don't do much, top one just says nothing new here you're all caught up and bottom one does absolutely nothing. According to the settings I have notifications on this is on both phone and watch. I used to receive messages and phone calls but then suddenly they stopped. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 phone and they are supposed to be compatible and they used to be compatible. When I touch the Bluetooth connection options in settings it only gives me the music option it does not give me the option to re- pair the device with my phone. I will try doing factory reset and go from there. Thank you

If you are still having the same problem try doing a factory reset on the ionic. It has worked for mine and I hope it fixed it permanently.
