I purchased an Ionic in August of 2018, as a replacement for a previous FitBit that had died 1 month past warranty, which had replaced one that also was just beyond warrant. Each time I purchased a newer more expensive model. Because I liked each product when its working, but I think this is the end for me. $400.00 for a 1 year disposable watch is just to much. I baby this unit, no showers, no swimming, no bangs or knocks, I am retired so walking is the hardest workout it gets. The unit was at 90% charge and I had just woke up this morning and was watching television and the screen went black. Tried all the button combinations, connected with the chat feature and had a nice chat with Nancy. She confirmed "I can see here that the Ionic last synced 42 minutes ago via your Android device with 90% battery". But like my 2 previous fitbit watches the purchase date is outside of the 12 month window so the offer 25% off a replacement purchase from the Fitbit site. Maybe there is another brand out there that has more longevity. Since reading some of the posts it appears that there is a reason that the warranty is 1 year, and purchasing from a 3rd party with an extended warranty might be the way to go on my next unit no matter what Manufacturer I end up with. So if there are people out there that have made a switch or have found a Fitbit that lasts let me know, as it appears I am going to have to shop for a new unit. Unless I hear back from the Supervisor who was busy at the time we were chatting.

My Charge and Charge 2 got the crap beat out of it...both with cracked screens. They both work.

My Fit Bit Ionic stopped syncing, or even being found by my phone two months ago. I have chatted and called customer service many times. My watch is past warranty just like my Charge I paid $300 for also. Crashed past warranty! Fit bit says I can buy a new watch for 25% discount but no thanks. They say it's my Samsung Galaxy S10+ they say is not compatible even though it worked perfectly for 5 months after I bought the new phone. Seems to me they are more concerned about IOS systems! I am also looking for a different watch brand to go to. I think Galaxy makes a nice one. I will check it out. So disappointed with Fit Bit!!!

I certainly did not type what I was thinking, but yeah, they caused the problem, not me (us) they should correct it and not conduct updates that damage the product. Of course look at the number of people that get sucked into buying with the discount, money in their pocket. The rich get richer.

Slick01 - maybe that is my problem then, I have to be rougher on the product to get it to last longer.... Interesting, but unless they send me a replacement I guess I will never get the opportunity to find out. This guy is done! LOL

Gabesdaddee - I treated mine to good apparently, even to the point of a protective screen, cause I wanted it to last.... Sadly I treated it to well and it expired shortly after a year. Maybe rough is the way to go, but I guess I will never find out, because unless FITBIT replaces it I am DONE. Cheers!!

MRogers71 - easy to blame another for their shortcomings, however there are many of those phones out there and I suspect some of them have your model phone. But if there is a known problem with your model of phone, their should be a warning when you purchase the watch.... Sounds like a lot of BullS.... to me. Good luck on your new purchase. Cheers!!
