My ionic suddenly quit accepting a charge, I have tried turning off and on and resetting but nothing is helping, husband also has one and his charges fine so I know the cable is good.

Like I said, followed the directions to restarting my watch and it started charging again. My watch is over 2 years old now working fine. It might have been something with the new update?

I'm writing on behalf of my husband. We both have Ionics. Mine was purchased in Dec 2018 and he bought his Jan 2019 and it stopped charging Jan 2020! We have read all of the advice, pressed all of the buttons, cleaned every post and prayed to no end that his EXPENSIVE tracker wasn't intentionally built to FAIL!  After reading message, after message within the Fitbit community regarding charging issues, I'm frustrated because the problem seems to be pervasive.

Fitbit, what are you doing to address what appears to be a default with the device?  We purchased your trackers in good faith and personally, my husband and I don't have money to throw way.

This is the 3rd Fitbit that I have a problem with. The first one was Fitbit blaze, after using for 2 years, it stopped charging and I had no idea why. I contacted the customer service, they told me that they stopped making Fitbit blaze (Fitbit Blaze was discontinued), and suggested me to get another Fitbit with a discount code. So I gave Fitbit another try, I bought the Ionic with the discount code. After using the Ionic for like 1 year, the Ionic started to quit charging again. It was 2 months ago when the Fitbit Ionic I bought quitted charging. I contacted Fitbit customer service and they sent me another Ionic one. I just use it for 2 months and now it stopped charging again. I totally lost fate in Fitbit.

Interesting, thank you. It seems it is a planned way for this company to keep selling new items.

Durability is not an attribute of Fitbit Ionic evidently.

Before the covid19, the customer service is online, and you can contact them through chat (now you will have to email them and wait for at least 48h for their reply). They will eventually tell you to try troubleshooting the issue. Eventually, the watch cannot wake up; there is no way to troubleshooting. They then will give you 2 options:

1. Give you a discount code (40% off or something) so that you can purchase some other smartwatch Fitbit using that code.

2. Sent you the replacement for your current Fitbit (watch face only). You can trash your current Fitbit.

I think it was a trap when they gave out the discount code even though the Fitbit was still in warranty. This is my 3rd Fitbit in 3 years, and they all have the same problem (Fitbit suddenly quits charging). I asked them last time when they replaced my Fitbit that if this Fitbit has the same problem, what can I do. They said they would not be able to replace a replaced Fitbit.

Thank you for your response, just when we need the support most to remain active, options are limited. I hear your pain.

UPDATE: After trying for several days and connecting it to charge everywhere (USB port on lamp, on printer, home outlet, laptop, etc.) and getting no results, yesterday I decided to try again with it connected to my laptop. After about an hour, it "came back to life" and was displaying the wrong time/date/steps. I followed the directions for restarting it and after getting the Fitbit logo, it started charging. This was a very strange experience. Now it seems to be working fine, aside from not being able to see calls and texts from my phone.
