My ionic won't let me download most apps.

My fitbit Ionic is a version 27.31.1.16 is this the correct version? I have uninstalled and re-installed the app in my android and tried to download spotify, it says i cannot dowlnoad the app unless my app and device are up to date. My app doesnt show any updates so i cant update the device. Can anyone help me out?

Hello @gabe9201 and welcome to the Help forums.  Your Ionic doesn't have the current firmware.  The current version is 27.70.7.27.  If your app is saying that your Ionic is up to date, you can try the following.  Sync your Ionic, then remove it from your account.  Restart it and add it back to you account. Wait a day or two and see if an update is made available.

 

Sadly, I have been trying to do this with my husband's Ionic.  I got one update, but not to the latest version.  I wish I had a magic answer for you.

 

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT do a factory reset, unless a Fitbit Support technician tell you to do it. I am not a Support technician.

Thankyou for the help, I have reset my ionic and readded it onto my app but there are no updates available yet, ill wait a day or so and hopefully something happens!

@gabe9201   Just to give you some feedback/update.  My husband's Ionic is actually my old Ionic that has been back in the box since I got a newer device.  I put it on his account on 4/23.  The firmware was seven releases out of date.  He got an update tracker notice the next morning that got him to four releases out of date.  He got one fake notice -- nothing happened.  Today, 5/3, he got another update notice.  He now has the current firmware.

 

Firmware upgrades are progressive.  And that's how long it can take.
