I'd reached the difficult decision to return the Fitbit. I really like it but there are too many issues for me.
So - followed all the steps to request a return.... only to have it refused.
Fitbit are claiming that the 45 day period 'no quiblbes' return started from my pre-order date (28th August) and not what I would consider the 'purchase date' when they took the money and despatched the goods.
Obviously I'm arguing the point with them and am prepared to continue to do so as they aren't acting in good faith but.. if any of you out there were contemplating returning - don't leave it long.

Hi, @Pd1972, that sounds very unusual, and I am quite certain that if you press them on this you will find that they will accept that the 45 day guarantee is so you can try it out -- which obviously you cannot do if you don't have it to try!
I would definitely call back and speak to someone again, and if you still are having trouble ask for a supervisor. BTW in the UK the statutory return period for online shopping definitely begins with the date of receipt, not even dispatch. That is, of course, only 14 days, but I would have thought it obvious that the same sort of principle applies!
Having said that, I am sorry to hear that you are having so many issues with it that you have decided to return it! I know several of the features aren't yet available in the UK, and there are some teething issues, but I have to say I have really enjoyed the super sharp screen, the excellent battery capacity of a device of this sort and the ability to track my runs using GPS and an always on screen.
Hopefully you will keep an eye on updates and developments and try it again in the future.
Good luck!

Thanks Julia- they have now agreed that using the pre-order date is wrong.
I was still tempted to keep the Ionic but today it completely stopped recording GPS so it's a no from me. The screen is indeed great but not so much the battery- great life if you don't use the watch in real life but v poor if you do.
For now it's back to my old Garmin- it has its faults but lasts about 3 times as long on GPS as the ionic, which is for me, what counts.
Maybe I'll be back to Fitbit one day but not until they come up with a market ready product.
