I have not updated my Ionic as when the option came up I came here to see any issues and no surprise lots of people reporting problems.
It looks like the usual Fitbit customer service solution is being wheeled out. We can see you are having problems with the update why don’t you spend hours doing various steps and when they do not work - we can offer you a discount on a new model. Having has this line since 2015 and being 5 years down the road I like a lot of people do not plan on wasting anymore more money. A lot more integrated options available now that were not in 2015.
I have the Aria scales and recently there was a major issues with an update on these where it looked like the server got pulled. After many people complained on various avenues this did get fixed. Unfortunately some people had purchased Aria Air with the discount offer by this point.
It would be good to hear is anyone has not had problems on the Ionic update and from Fitbit if they are resolving the reported bugs. I have no plans to update till I feel confident my watch will still be working in the same capacity after installing it.

Do NOT update! I have had my watch for about 5 years. I stupidly did the update and now it will not sync. I am looking to purchase a Garmin smartwatch. Prices are comparable and there are some nice options with Garmin.
Good luck! I posted yesterday and got a response from Fitbit late in the evening saying they knew of the problem and were trying to fix it.
I don't have time to wait for them to fix a problem that they have known about for a few days. I hope you get your issue straightened out.

Was this really an update to your ionic watch? Or was it an update to your Fitbit app on the phone. Which has affected a few phone models.

My watch no longer syncs with my phone. The app had the update. My husband has a Versa2 and his no longer will sync either since the update.

So why are we asking about an android update in the Charge 4 hardware support.
