New fitbit Ionic keeps shutting down, what am i doing wrong?

I just got a NEW in the box Fitbit Ionic, I can not get it to stay on! finally, I got it to start. It ways the battery is full. What am I doing wrong?

Please help.

Is it just the display turning off (it does not stay on all the time in order to save battery)? Or, does it actually shut down and require powering it back on (such that the Fitbit logo displays every time you start the Ionic)? If it's the latter, I would suggest contacting Fitbit support as that certainly should not happen.

If it is the former, you can set "Screen Wake" to Auto and it the display should turn on when you raise your wrist.
