Sunday past I bought my first Fitbit just some minor niggles is it normal to count steps when driving as the device counted 68 although this might be explained somewhere also a couple if hundred when I was sleeping (I don’t sleep walk ,honest). Will the device improve and get more accurate with use ? Today is my first really full day of use and I’m impressed.

Welcome to the forums!
It will count steps when the ride is bumpy. You also must be moving your arms some when sleeping.

You can plug the device in to the charger while driving and it won't count steps. If it's your car

For most people, 68 steps isn't really a lot. The Fitbit will sometimes register arm movements as steps (the tracking is motion based), but unless your level of activity is pretty low, it shouldn't have a major impact on things. If you look at your steps over time, you'll get a better idea of how significant the error is to you.
