No difference between Normal & Strong vibration

I have noticed on my new Ionic that there is no difference between the Normal and Strong vibration settings. This is my second Ionic. On my first Ionic there was definitely a noticeable difference between Normal and Strong. I always kept mine on Strong since I barely noticed vibrations when it was set to Normal. I had my previous Ionic from late 2017 through December 2019 so am I used to and aware of the differences between these settings.  I'm a runner and really enjoy using the running app. The vibrations tell me when I've reached a split. I usually have mine set to vibrate every mile. I have missed most splits using my new Ionic because I can't feel it go off. I never had that problem with my old Ionic. I've seen this mentioned in other questions but I haven't seen a solution. Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done? Is this a software problem or a hardware problem? I have had other people try it on and they agree with me that there is no difference between the Normal and Strong settings. I am going to try to chat with fitbit Support to see if they have anything to offer. thanks!

The answer I received from my chat with support was to add my fitbit back to the app on my device and see if that makes a difference. It hasn't made a difference. There is a no difference between the normal and strong settings on my device. I am going to use a friend's fitbit Ionic tomorrow and see if I notice a difference between the normal and strong settings on their device. If I can then I'll request a refund on my since I'm within the 45 money back guarantee period and there doesn't appear to be a solution for my issue.
