I finally got my ionic to update after a month or so of trying. It kept turning on and off and wouldn’t stay on long enough to update even after resetting, turning it off, and a factory reset. I was stoked to have it functioning again but after a couple hours of use, I noticed that there was no heart rate and no recorded steps even after a lengthy walk. I tried a reset which didn’t change anything and I tried turning it off and back on still with no luck.

Hello @Liz212 welcome to the Community Forums!
First, I'd like to appreciate your effort and patience troubleshooting your Fitbit Ionic prior to posting. If you haven't already done so, to resolve the heart rate situation I recommend you to check the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why don't I see my heart rate on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Regarding the steps not being recorded, can you please let me know if your steps are not being recorded at all or they're but not accurately?
Please keep me posted, I'll be here.
