No longer sleep logging

My Ionic is no longer sleep logging.  This is the main reason I got the Ionic over the Apple Watch.  It is a bit different than most in that at first it would not record the whole night only about 2-3 hours of 6-8 hours.  Then it went down to only about 1 hour for a week and now nothing.  I have tired resetting and recharging but nothing works.

Thanks!

Hi @xxltall nice to see you here, welcome to the Forums!

Thanks for the steps that you've taken to help your Fitbit Ionic to track your sleep. You did a great job, the restart usually helps in these cases. It is odd that your Ionic is not longer recording your sleep.

As you know, sleep stages are based on heart rate data, so make sure that you're getting a solid heart rate reading , since sleep stages requires consistent HR. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight. Also, double check that your watch is charged up.

Additionally, in case that you haven't do so; I'd recommend checking the following that could be preventing you from receiving sleep stages:

  • If you used the "Begin Sleep Now" option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed).
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.

For more information about why you see your sleep pattern, tap or click the sleep record that shows your sleep pattern.

If you've already checked all this information and you're still no longer getting your sleep stages, you can try a factory reset on your device. Please note that after trying this step you will need to reinstall all apps on your device.

  1. Sync your Fitbit Ionic.
  2. Plug it in on the computer.
  3. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.

So far this is what I have tried...

  1. the hard reset- didn't work so tried again and again
  2. Soft rest- didn't work tried again and again
  3. use the begin sleep now button- did not record the detailed sleep stage info.
  4. Change sleep sensitivity.
  5. I'm getting a solid heart rate reading all through the night.
  6. Changed bands they all worked before but none work now- don't think bands is an issue.
  7. Tried cleaning the watch with toothbrush and soft cloth.
  8. I'm going to bed at 10 and wakening at 6-6:30 so its way more than the 3 hours required.

Nothing has worked at this point I think I need to talk to Fitbit about a replacement.
