No sync Nexus 6P

I'm curious if anyone is using a Nexus 6P with their Ionic. I have a Nexus 6P running android oreo and I have not been able to sync my Ionic since the day I got it. This is incredibly frustrating. I was so frustrated I almost returned the Ionic and called it quits with fitbit.

But then, I calmed myself down, tried syncing with my Windows 10 laptop and that is working okay. It's not ideal, I would much rather be able to sync with my phone, but it works. Anyway... I'm thinking it may not be fitbit's fault my ionic won't sync. Ever since I've upgraded to oreo on my nexus 6P, I've been having bluetooth issues like crazy, especially while playing music. It sounds like a cd skipping.

I googled the problem and found that it's a known issue with the Nexus 6P after upgrading to oreo. What really stumps me about this whole thing is why was I able to setup my ionic and install a software update; all with my phone, but when it comes to syncing, I haven't gotten it to work one time. Anyone else out there have a Nexus 6P and have syncing issues? Have you found any fixes? I contacted support and they said I'd probably have to wait for a fitbit app update. Lord knows how long that would take.

Like I said before, it's a frustrating issue and I'm still on the fence everyday about just returning the device and being done with it. I'm trying to hang in there and have patience, I'm hoping fitbit will be able to address this issue.

I cant see your phone on the Compatible Devices List HERE. If it is not on the list that would explain your problems.

It's on the list, just easy to miss..under Google Nexus 6p.. works fine on Android 7.

Sounds like they messed with Bluetooth on Oreo. I don't have issues with that on Nougat.

BTW, how do you like the Nexus 6p?

Work out...eat... sleep...repeat!

I have a Nexus 6P and I do have intermittent problems, but I've been able to sync OK; which is good because I am almost entirely unable to sync with either of my Windows 7 PCs. I find that it will only sync from the Dashboard screen. Just pull down and watch the bar near the top. Sometimes you have to try more than once. Every now and again, I will have to force kill the app or restart the phone or Ionic, but even that is rare. I also find that it's best to keep all day sync on. I don't keep my phone on me all the time, so the connections sometimes dies, but it seems to help overall.

It is on the list. Look under Google Nexus 6P. I figured out what the issue
is. I had a Fitbit one also trying to sync. I deleted the Fitbit one, and
now it's working.

The 6P is pretty good. I dropped it a couple months after I got it. So it has a crack on the screen. Other than that it's great! Hah.

I've got the same problem.  It works "sometimes".... like once a week.  I've added and removed the fitbit several times.  reset to factory at least 4 times.  even signed up with a new account.

Finally, the text/email notifications work, but the rest.....  crap.

I didn't realize how spoiled I was with the Pebble.  It's like going from a honda accord to a first generation Yugo.

I'll wait for the next firmware update, but if that doesn't fix this, the box is on my desk and it's going back.

So, I'm having issues again synching. I'm done with this thing. I'm not waiting around for updates. They should release a quality product right away instead of making people wait while they workout the bugs. $300 for a half baked watch is awful. I'm taking it back tomorrow.

So I kind of freaked out a little bit in an earlier post, I did not return my ionic. I'm going to stick with it. It is frustrating that I have to restart my ionic once in awhile to get it sync. But, it has been synching somewhat regularly now.

But I'm staying patient and can't wait to see what the future holds for the ionic, speaking in terms of both getting the ionic to work better and what new features the may add. (I'm really excited for the app store)!

I think the health tracking aspects can't be beat by any company and I'm thankful to have Fitbit in my life. They helped me lose 20 lbs! So, here's to an exciting future for Fitbit!

I should also note that all my sync issues have not been completely solved. When I first setup my device I quickly added a credit card, now I cannot add another one. I tried multiple things, such as restarting Bluetooth and the watch. No luck whatsoever adding another credit card

The App store should be pretty good. I've developed quite a few over the
years and the foundation they have is so common among developers that the
biggest problem will be weeding out the junk.

However, you can't develop apps unless you're using the developer edition,
which I coudn't get to sync at all. So, for me to "develop", meant I had
to get one watch to wear and one to develop on, since I don't want to wear
a watch that I can't use!

However, I'm almost committed. I'm still a bit pissed that just seeing
what time it is requires this gentle wrist twist (or two hands). I had
never realized how nice it was to have the always-on face of the pebble.
Being able to glance down at your wrist in a fraction of a second at a
meeting when you don't want people to realize you're keeping track of the
time they yammer on and on... It's invaluable.

Just the other day, I had 2 bags of groceries in one hand and a child in
the other; and felt a text or email come in..... could I see it with a
twist of the wrist? Nope. Had to put a **ahem** bags down and do that idiotic
wrist twist to see I had an email from my wife.... but the whole subject
line wasn't even visible because... well, who knows... so I had to put
the kid down to dig out my phone.

But I got nice fireworks and a smiley congratulations message for doing to
same workout I always do.
