Not completely a smart watch

Sorry Fitbit, in all honesty that I'll be returning my device. Love the battery life. But how I miss the ability to use Google now, and reply to text or email. Screen is bright and color pop! My Apple watch 3 has been out preforming it in heart rate monitoring. And that just don't cut it. Not when that what it's primary purpose is. Use them both at the same time and thier is no comparison! The Fitbit can't keep up with a HIT workout. You guys need to hurry and do some updates. I'm still within my 45 day return window.

It is a smart watch by definition, it just may not have what you like.

Don't expect changes to the heart rate, and Fitbit has 0 I tenting of allowing a reply to text messages (thank God).  If those are what you want then just do your return now.

 But enjoy daily charging.

Sorry it didn't work for you, @Inuyasha02, but you probably should return it within your 45-day refund period as the things you must have will not be there within that timeframe.

Thanks for your response, but that’s why my title stated not completely a smart watch. A smart watch does smart things. This doesn’t ,and the fitness isn’t doing its part either. Not sure me!! On a side note my polar m600 charge last 2days series 3 without cellular 2 days also.

I was surprised when the Ionic was announced without speaker or mic. In todays world of smart assistants, that should be a no-go for a "smart" device. When Huawei announced the original Huawei watch three years ago, they even included a speaker although Android Wear didn't support it at that time - that's sustainable product design. Not including even a mic is a big mistake. BUT we also have to take into account that the Ionic runs a much slower CPU and therefore has much better battery life. Perhaps that's the trade off we have to pay.

As for heart rate I'm also quite disappointed, my Charge 2 always was on nearly the same level as my chest belt or medical devices. The Ionic sometimes is WAYS off, during todays workout it showed complete wrong values 2 times: One time on the elliptical it showed a constantly failing hr for more than 5 minutes while the hr was constant (also measured via chest belt and direct counting) an hour later it showed a constantly rising hr up to 140bpm while I was resting during a workout and had a constant hr around 90bpm.

I don't know what went wrong with the Ionic, I just hope they can fix it with software / firmware updates. Unfortunately, given that the Ionic is nearly half a year old is not a good sign in this regard.
