It's not a matter of how long you have to walk, it's how fast. You only get active minutes when your fitbit thinks you have been particularly active, not just mildly active. It might be just that it only thought that for 10 minutes of your walk. There's more information on active minutes here:
Best AnswerI have run today used the elliptical and did hill work. 90 minutes. My charge would record that as 90 minutes. My Ionic records it as 24. Sorry there is something seriously wrong. It started out fine for a week.

Best AnswerHi I am having the same issue at the moment ... I did 60 minutes of weights and 30 treadmill - on manual it is not showing achieving minutes when it usually does,,,, in addition my fitibit said I had completed 11k steps until I synced it then it wen down to 7k steps ...
