Why are you doing this Fitbit? A few days ago, latest fitbit app update was available, I have installed it on my OnePlus 6 latest version using Ionic device.....biggest mistake of my life.
Notifications are not working at all on Fitbit, I have tried all solutions posted on Fitbit forums, and after 30 minutes, the same message is displayed in Fitbit app: "notification service is not working. restart your phone"....it's useless to restart it.
Before this release....notifications and sync worked like a CHARM on Oneplus 6....why this low quality releases on Android? It's really disrespectful for Fitbit to treat the releases like no QA team is really testing them.....If this issue is not solved ASAP i will sell this useless watch and get an Apple Watch.....
PLEASE SOLVE THE NOTIFICATION ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!

It's great to see you around @bungan11. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.
I appreciate that you mentioned you're using OnePlus 6. Sorry to hear you're experiencing this with your watch.
We were aware that this issue was happening before. However, it was resolved in an app update, please make sure you have the latest app version and you've tried the troubleshooting shared in this post: RESOLVED 06/16/2018: "Notification service not running" error.
Let me know how it goes. I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hello Silvia!
That post is from 2018, almost one year old, that solution is not working. I've really hopped that latest app release, version 3.3.1 will fix the issue.
If i reinstall the application, notification service is working until the watch is disconnected only 1 time from the phone via bluetooth, after that, notification service not working will be display inside app.
It doesn't matter if you restart the phone, the notification service will not work again. Before version 3.3, 1 phone restart would solve the notification issue.
With version 3.3.1 the only way to make the notification work is to reinstall completely the application and reconfigure every time....and that is extremely frustrating !!!!!!
Please test the Fitbit App with latest OS version for Oneplus 6. THIS WORKED BEFORE UPDATE 3.3 that is REALLY BAD!!! Please fix things with updates, don't make them worse.
I am waiting for a different solution please!!!! THANKS

Is there any solution? I have got 2 Fitbit Versa with me and both have become unusable since last 6-7 months. Even after multiple app updates issue still exists. This is really sad that after spending so much money on this product your team is not able to solve this issue.

For my Alta I have discovered that you have to force stop the Fitbit phone app and then reopen it. It seems to work every time now. While I'm at it I also clear the cache. I don't know if that is required, but I do it anyway.

I only ever need to do it after an app update. Otherwise I haven't had any more issues.

Entering 2020.
still no solution.
Version 3.12.1
again had to re-install the app.

Have you tried just force-stopping the app and then restarting it, versus uninstalling and reinstalling? It seems to work for me.
I should note that now I frequently have to do this; whereas, before it was only after app updates.
