My ionic constantly stops receiving notifications. I've tried restarting the watch, restarting bluetooth, and restarting the phone. None of those work. The only thing that works is unpairing/repairing the watch, but then it works for another day or so and stops working again. And yes, notifications are "on" in both the app and watch settings.
So frustrating! Combine that with the heart rate monitor constantly over estimating my heart rate and this thing is basically useless... It doesn't measure my heart rate properly (which also means calorie burn is not accurate) and it doesn't send me notifications. It's not even heavy enough to make a good paper weight.

@fitblit I hope you're doing well! Thanks for trying all of those steps to resolve this situation with the notifications not being received.
What type/model of mobile device are you using? Is it a compatible device?
There are a couple more tips you can try to resolve this:
You will find the steps to perform each of the above on this helpful article. You will also find some other important information regarding notifications not being received; please take a look at them.
Regarding your heart rate readings, is this happening with all the activities you do or just with some specific ones?
Have you tried the wrist placement tips to make it more accurate? I'd recommend checking the wrist placements here and try them out. That should certainly help you out with getting better readings. Make sure to check the whole article too.
Let me know how it goes!

I'm having the same problem I believe it has something to do with the firmware update that just came out.

I'm using an LG G6, which is not on the list of compatible devices. That's kind of odd since it's LG's current flagship phone. Do you think that is the cause of the connectivity issues? I'd hope fitbit would support the major android phone vendors.
I've tried force quitting the app, and changing notification preferences. That hasn't helped. I'm not sure what "Refresh notifications" means? I should also mention that most sync functions aren't working in this state (like sleep data, or weather on the watch), but I can see my heart rate in the app so *something* is connected.
As for the heart rate inaccuracy, I'll try some of those tips. I have found that tightening the band helps, but I still get spikes where the ionic reads 20 - 30 bpm higher than what I count manually.

I am having the same issue. I went thru updates on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S8+) updates to the ionic and updates to the app and nothing is alerting on my phone now. I have factory reset my Ionic, removed and reinstalled the app on my phone, unpaired the Ionic Classic, everything and nothing is working. I am noticing that the Ionic is not staying connected to bluetooth. Its like I have to "wake it up" to get it to reconnect which I never had to do before. Please help!?!? This is my second post on this and no one had offered me any solutions.

SAME. I'm so irritated with this update. I didn't realize how much I depended on my watch to give me notifications from my phone while I work out.

@Eds24 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for updating your watch to its latest version. Have you tried the troubleshooting steps I left above to resolve this?
@fitblit I hope you're doing well! Thanks for trying those troubleshooting steps to resolve this. I do believe this is happening as the LG G6 is not a supported device. It is not guaranteed that it will work properly.
Refresh notifications:
Check this article for more details on this.
For heart rate, yes, please try those wrist placement tips. Check it here to make sure you are using the correct one.
Also, what exactly is happening to sleep and weather on your watch?
@AndiV @nicoledmartinez Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for reporting this and trying some steps to resolve this. Are you using a compatible device?
If you are please check these notifications troubleshooting steps. This should certainly help you out with this!
Keep me posted!

I tried disabling and re-enabling (manually, since there's no option for reenable) notifications. It's been 5 days and notifications are still working. So that's good news! (I'd still like to see the G6 officially supported)
No luck with the heart rate though. Tried tighter, looser, further up or down the arm... I don't get the crazy high 200bpm readings, but when it shoots up to 160 I manually measure around 110...

After the 2.0 update, completely disabling then reenabling notifications seems to have fixed the problem.

I have tried everything recommended and NOTHING has made a difference. I really rely on notifications while at the gym and working out. Ever since the update, things do not seem to be working as well. I don't think it's properly calibrated either as the step count seems to be off. I am using an IPhone 8 plus.

I followed your instructions but I'm still not receiving notifications. The notification stop working as of the last update.

I'm having the same issue. Updated this weekend and no text notifications since. Major bummer. I tried everything, even factory resetting my Ionic and uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my phone. No dice.

I haven't had any synch or notification issues since the 2.0 update. If you've done the update, try first disabling all notifications and all synch options (always connected, etc..), then re-enable everything.

I have spent over an hour with someone through chat and via phone, there was no resolution to this issue STILL. I have done EVERYTHING that has been suggested, more than once, it is still not working I am way beyond disappointed with this at this point. I had loved my Ionic until this, I rely on this feature ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! Fix it or replace my Ionic.

If you don't mind me asking, what type of phone do you have? I'm having the same issues with my now 1 week old Ionic. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7. I had my son who has an Iphone 7S Plus try it with his phone and everything worked fine. I'm wondering if this is an Android issue.

I have a Google Pixel 2. I've been troubleshooting for days and still no luck. This is so very disppointing.

I have issues with notifications too. Every 2-3 days I stop receiving notifications, and I have to reset my Ionic, turn it back on, go into the Fitbit app, resync it, go into notifications and check everything I want is selected (sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't), and send a test call notification (sometimes works, sometimes doesn't). If the test call notification doesn't work a message will come up in red that I have to restart my phone, which I do. I then go back into the app and resync, and it should work.
After that it works fine for 2-3 days then I have to do it all again. I have a Samsung S9 but I had the same issues with an iPhone 6s. Can Fitbit do something about this, as there are a lot of people having issues.
