My ionic constantly stops receiving notifications. I've tried restarting the watch, restarting bluetooth, and restarting the phone. None of those work. The only thing that works is unpairing/repairing the watch, but then it works for another day or so and stops working again. And yes, notifications are "on" in both the app and watch settings.
So frustrating! Combine that with the heart rate monitor constantly over estimating my heart rate and this thing is basically useless... It doesn't measure my heart rate properly (which also means calorie burn is not accurate) and it doesn't send me notifications. It's not even heavy enough to make a good paper weight.

I can't get it to work with either one. I'm NOT a happy camper.

I'm running into this issue post-update as well. Setting up notifications through the app is also not working--loading spinner just keeps going forever. Sync is working, just not text notifications. I have an iPhone.

Try to return it ASAP!! I wish I could. Got mine 3rd week of February and started having syncing issues mid March. 2 weeks ago after posting on here and having many people on the thread with same issue. We all got the update and sync works but now notifications doesn't work AND have battery draining all the time! Worst fitbit product ! And worst service for it. Wish I could return or exchange!

I’m having a similar issue.
I get text messages, calls and notifications from 3rd party apps fine, but do not get any notifications at all from Fitbit (Fitbit messages and progress notifications from the app)
I have fitbit selected in notifications. I’ve tried all the suggestions in this thread. I’ve also uninstalled and reinstalled the app. This hasn’t worked.
What rlse can i try?
I have an an iPhone with iOS 11.4. I have an ionic with the latest firmware.

@Kevrimo I hope you're doing well! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with app notifications on Ionic. I'm glad to read that you are getting third party notifications properly.
You can try going to the online dashboard notification's settings and turning off mobile notifications then save. Then, turn them back on and save again.
@nraysutton17 Welcome to the Fitbit family! I'm really glad to read that your notifications are now working properly.
Keep me posted!

@Kevrimo Thanks for your reply and for trying those steps. So, you mean Fitbit notifications, right? The ones you get on challenges on when a friend cheers you? Those will not appear on the watch.
On your watch you should get reminders, text notifications, call notifications, calendar notifications, and third party notifications.
Please vote for this feature suggestion which is asking for something similar.
@nraysutton17 You are very welcome!
Keep me posted!

Same problem here no notifications at all except the hourly steps. Tried all the steps in your solution but nothing helped.
On a possibly related note: I got the update pretty early and it hasn't worked for at least a week

I keep having probs with all notifications even though it syncs properly. Have to keep resetting the Fitbit and it is very frustrating. It’s only been since the last update

That worked, but how many times will we continue to have to do this. Meaning, is there a fix coming to resolve this issue. I know I have done this at least once a week since I have had my Ionic. I have had to have it replaced for a separate issue, but this issue with notifications remains.

Notifications stop working for me pretty much daily. The fastest way I've found to fix it is to "Force Stop" the fitbit app (from android settings). Then open the app again and it should sync. No need to restart the watch, bluetooth, or mess around with notification settings.

Hello everybody, thanks for visiting the Fitbit Community.
I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties with the notifications. If you haven't done it already, please set up your Ionic as a replacement device by following these steps:
If you were receiving notifications from a different cellphone, your Ionic was bonded to that device, please remove the Ionic from the Bluetooth in order to be able to bond it to the new mobile device.
Hope this helps. Keep on stepping.

I had to unpair my device and repair it like a new device. It was the only thing that would work to get notifications back up and running. Hope it helps.

My new Inspire was working great for the first week. Now i don't get the vibrations when people call or text. I go to Notifications and it says "could not connect to bluetooth. The bluetooth is connected and everything works except these notifications. I have rebooted the phone, removed and re added the app, nothing works. How do I return it? I got it through my company. Or if there is a resolution, please provide, thanks!
