Notifications on iOS compared to Android?

Okay I'm loving my Ionic to pieces, however I've had a few issues.

The issues stem from the phone the Ionic is linked to. I'll explain...

For the first week of Ionic ownership I had the watch linked to my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and all was well, notifications seemed to flow reliably. Each test notification tried works first time.

For the last few days I've switched over to linking the Ionic to the Apple iPhone 6S since I'm considering upgrading to a new iPhone this year. Since moving to the iPhone notifications seem somewhat spotty with some being received and some not (yes I have turned them on for the respective apps). It annoys mew somewhat as well there is no option to send a test notification.

So are there notification issues on iOS / Apple devices at all? Are there any Apple owners (or dual device users) that have found similar issues?

I have tried rebooting both the Ionic and the 6S which has not helped at all, and have also turned Bluetooth on and off to no avail.

[P.S. I was hoping I could have the Ionic paired to both the Note 8 and the 6S but the only way I could get it to pair with the 6S was to remove it from the Note 8].

@dbrewood I hope you're doing well! Thanks for your posting this situation about notifications on your iPhone 6S devices.

What OS do you have on your iPhone? Is it iOS 11?

Please make sure that the "Show in History" option is toggled on:

  • iOS system settings
  • Notifications
  • Messages
  • "Show in History"

Something else you could try is resetting notifications on your iPhone. Please check this helpful article to get the steps to do this. This might help you out too.

Try this out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

I'll have a play with this over the weekend. I was running iOS 11.3, but the 6S uplifted to iOS 11.4 beta which did not run well so I'm rebuilding the phone from scratch. Once it's all reconfigured I'll check on the above. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Hi. I’m also having this issue. Since I updated the Fitbit app on my iPhone 6 I cannot get notifications. I’ve tried everything I’ve found in this forum. Nothing. It’s very irritating.
