Can somebody explain if the Ionic notifications will work with windows phone or not? I get notifications on my windows phone and blaze. Will the ionic not work with windows phone? I was reading the information on the web site and saw a tiny note at the bottom that said "smart phone notifications not available on windows device". Does that mean that when fitbit said it supports windows phone its not fully supported?
I imagine this is down to the GATT server testing that is still in beta. I seem to recall ( it's a long time since I've used a Windows 10 mobile) that Microsoft have only recently implemented the require Bluetooth stack for notifications to work, and then only to those on Insiders Ring. I think Fitbit are still testing with the Blaze and there are some mismatches with various releases.
I'm to sure what the situation s with the Ionic and Windows 10 and would need proper info from Fitbit in this respect. You might want to pay a visit to the Windows 10 App forum, and more specifically the thread here Fitbit-for-Windows-Track-Notifications-Testing-GATT-Server
Best AnswerSo basically it does not work with windows phone even though Fitbit says it does. So windows phone users are paying $300 to be beta testers and may never get a working device. All the windows phone users that bought a blaze and have been testing it for over a year and still have not received the device they paid for. Huge Fail on Fitbit.
I don't know, I'm only speculating but probably not yet. Their compatibility checker excludes call, calendar and text notifications. However it does say app sync, so I imagine that is what it means by "works with Windows"
Remember, Microsoft is to blame here as well, for taking so long to implement GATT server technology.
Best AnswerSo can a fitbit person confirm if the Ionic will work with windows phone?

Yes, because Microsoft have finally got round to implementing the GATT requirements. They made the announcement earlier this year that they’d push it out to Insiders.
