Pandora update message

I have noticed for quite a while that my Ionic looks like it's downloading something when I charge it. I have gotten in the habit of restarting it to make this stop, because it sometimes seems to have trouble syncing with the phone otherwise. Recently, I get a warning that the Pandora update needs to finish before I unplug the charger. I find this strange, since I don't even have the Pandora app installed on my watch. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Hey there @ruthiepg, it's great to have you around the forums! Hmmm... maybe it's asking you for the Firmware update on your Ionic? Are you already running version 27.25.16.7? On Fitbit Ionic, find the firmware version in the Settings app > About.

Start charging your device before updating it, since a firmware update can take several minutes to an hour and is demanding on the battery. Note that if you update your device at midnight (when your step count resets) you may see an inaccurate step count for 24 hours.

  1. Verify that the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone or tablet.
  2. With your charged watch or tracker nearby, open the Fitbit app.
  3. Tap or click the Account icon > your device image.
  4. Tap or click the pink Update button. You'll only see an option to update your device if an update is available.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions and keep the device close to your phone, tablet, or computer during the update. Note that a firmware update may take up to an hour to complete. If the update is slow, don't remove your device from your account as a troubleshooting measure.

Let's try these steps and let me know if the message persists.

In addition to what @MarreFitbit posted, it does sound Pandora related. @ruthiepg, do you have Pandora installed on the phone or computer that the Ionic syncs with?

Once Pandora is set up, when the Ionic is put on the charger, it will automatically download and update your Pandora stations. In the upper corner you'll see a download icon (an arrow pointing down). This just happens in the background while charging.

You may also see a spinning wheel icon with the message that Pandora is updating, to remind you to leave it on the charger.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I should have been clearer. I am not using Pandora at all. I finally messaged customer service and they fixed it. I think they did some sort of reset on my account. The chat session disconnected before I got any explanation.
