Paused activity not recorded

I ran a half marathon this morning, and at the end of the race, I hit "pause," but I didn't hit "end" until much later. Now it isn't showing up on my app, and therefore also isn't syncing with Strava. Is there any way to retrieve this run? The walk back to the car after the run auto-logged as exercise, but the run seems completely lost. This is really disappointing because this is a goal I have been working towards for months, and I now can't see any splits. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it!

Hello @EmilyMW, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the information that was shared in your post. To better assist you with this situation, can you please let me know if you experienced this inconvenience in the past or it's the first time? Did your Fitbit ran out of battery due to being paused or you finished the activity when your crossed the half-marathon finish line? Part of the run was recorded and synced with your account or nothing at all? And lastly, which mobile device are you using to sync your Ionic?

I experienced the same situation with my Ionic when hiking a volcano but the activity wasn't recorded because the device ran out of battery while being paused, which is expected. However, if you finished the exercise, the information that was recorded prior to pausing the activity should be synced with your account.

Looking forward to your reply. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for your reply! No, the battery didn't die. This happened to me once before in a similar situation-- I finished a run, hit pause but not end, and then in the meantime, I did enough walking for it to auto-log the walk. It seems like in both cases, the walk got entered first, and then when I hit end, the syncing didn't go back to the previous exercise (the run).
