Paying for "Elegance" watch face

Just received an Ionic for Christmas .. third Fitbit I’ve owned. I logged into my Fitbit account and selected a new watch face called “Elegance” which seems nice... for awhile.  After a few days my watch face is locked up with an error, “To continue using Elegance please visit KZL.IO/Eleg and enter a code.  I will NOT be logging into a website I know nothing about in the middle of the Indian Ocean (.IO websites are registered on a small island in the Indian Ocean) .  At this point I assume this is a hack and if the problem persists, I will return my ionic and walk away from Fitbit after over 5 years as a user.  Not sure I can support a product that allows 3rd parties to hijack my wristband at will.

From your smartphone application, press the icon of your Ionic and then clockface. Now you can select any other clockface you want.

True enough. However,  I paid for a package of the faces, this one included, and now they want more money.

Yes, there is. Check Clock Faces, All Clocks, By Fitbit. It is called Gauges

I do not blame you for being upset at all! I get up this morning and I now have no clock face, never tried to add another as well but it is gone, all I have is 5 numbers telling me to add this code. Why?? I did not try to add another clock face, I want the same one I had. I can not get out of it and have no idea why it is there. Not very happy myself!.

Yeah, I think Fitbit needs to do something about it. Perhaps have an option in the Settings app to "Restore factory watch face".

I have already paid for kzl.io/colors and it has locked me out for the second time in a week. How do I recover my watch?

The best thing to do...throw your Fitbit in the drawer and forget about. Move on to something else. I stopped wearing my ionic a few months ago, I got tired of the constant issues and trying to deal with customer service that was difficult to deal with. My “water resistant” Ionic crapped out after swimming in a five foot deep pool. I threw in a drawer rather than opt to get it fixed again. Had similar issues with my first FitBit blaze, unfortunately it took me twice to realise it’s just not the great of a product.
