During the last three weeks, on at least 6 occasions, my Ionic has created duplicate exercise data after my walking exercise is completed. The phantom exercises duplicate number steps walked, miles walked and other data. I have shut down the Ionic. I have refreshed the Ionic by holding the left button and lower right button. Nothing seems to correct the problem. I can delete the phantom exercises to correct the problem, but I think something more needs to be done so that the phantom exercises won't happen in the first place.
This has never happened during the first 7 months that I have used the Ionic, so I am wondering if the last Ionic software update is the problem.
Any suggestions?

If they are the same exercise during the same time, more than 1 exercise will not affect how many steps you have taken. I would recommend you factory reset if a restart doesn't work according to what you said.

Same is happening to me and it IS affecting the number of steps I’m doing as it’s adding them twice
If anyone has any advice it would be great. I have tried the reset but not working

Fitbit needs to fix this, so many issues this year with Fitbit-Strava integration. I have almost 1000 activities synced to Strava, sent from Garmin Connect (bike computer), Cyclemeter app, Zwift app, and TrainerRoad app. And TrainerRoad pulls outdoor rides from both Strava and Garmin Connect. Fitbit needs to take a lesson from TrainerRoad- a little company is pulling the same ride from two different places and only showing one ride in my TrainerRoad dashboard.
My workaround - sync bike rides to Endomondo and let Endomondo push it to Fitbit. That has been working flawlessly for years. No reason Fitbit-Strava integration shouldn’t be just as flawless and “just work.”
