Folks,
Is anyone else finding the raise to wake function a little unpredictable? I'm finding that it is not working for me ~50% of the time, something that I didn't ever experience with my AW or Blaze.
The double tap to wake is the only reliable way that I can get my screen to turn on... 😞
Should be a default

Best AnswerExcited at first. But it's a slow **ahem**ty processor and wake screen doesn't work effectively. Only thing keeping it cuz it's more effective and efficient for health and fitness. Apple sucks cuz everything is 3rd party apps. Embarrassing for apple. Might shop for a better watch
Best AnswerI'm in the same boat. My wife got me an Ionic for Valentine's Day and the raise to wake is super unreliable. Everything is configured correctly and I've rebooted a few times too and it is still very hit or miss. I was hoping this latest update would address it, but it did not. It is obviously a big issue as I have seen dozens of posts about this. I just wish the Dev team would investigate things and figure out a permanent solution.
Ya mine too. Especially to see who's calling. Like I said earlier post? Fitbit has things I need. Sleep, adding meals, overall fitness. But if apple had the same thing integrated instead of all 3rd party apps I would go with apple. Sad. Fitbit pretty much rushed out a watch and operating system that's crap
Literally got mine and it’s an auto and the dang thing never wakes upon rise. I’ve updated, restarted and made sure the settings are right. Thinking of returning it and going back to the blaze. This is beyond annoying. I need it to wake on rise for my job. I don’t alwaus have the luxury of two hands.
Best AnswerYa mine too. I just don't get it. Apple has their sh! Together. Why can't fitbit?
Like I said. I did my research before my ionic. Now I've always had fitbit. But hands down if you're looking for something in the fitness and health
same issue here. wondering if fitbit team is taking note of this. screen wake is set to auto but the screen never wakes up. no matter how much i shake my wrist. Used to work a few weeks ago but not much lately.
please add this in upcoming update. lot of people still facing this issue.
for now manual seems to be better where i can quickly tap on screen instead of side buttons which is less convenient than the screen tap.
Best AnswerRecently updated and while the watch doesn't wake when I raise my wrist, I cant even find the settings any more to make sure they're set right. Wonder if they took away the function in last update. Not happy with Fitbit now. I also have fitbit scale and it wont connect to sync now that I have updated fitbit app and ionic. Sold my stock
Best AnswerI'm having this issue too. It's horrible. I'm wearing a watch that doesn't have always on display and it's auto on works about 25 percent of the time for me. Anyone have a fix for this? Fitbit needs to just put a sensitivity slide bar for us that ranges manual to always on.
Best AnswerDid you update the os? Ya mine too but now not getting notification

Best AnswerI am a new Ionic user, less than 7 days old. Pathetic piece of garbage.
btw, looks like that old functionality (right swipe on clock face) is now available via long press of left side single button. There you will find the settings to set Auto awake and notifications on/off.
I have Ionic now after Surge 3 years. At first I was frustrated by the screen not being on all the time. It’s not perfect when raising wrist etc but I just discovered simple solution, pick clock face ‘Nothing Special’. It’s free and has option in Settings for always on. I’m sure this will drain battery much faster but it’s an option for those that want it always on. I bet there are other clock faces that allow this. I’ve found most allow the battery life and I saw complaints about that too. I love the watch and hope this helps you.
