Preorder/Release Date for Ionic

Hey!  

So I am super excited by all things Ionic, but am running a race within the next 2 months. What is the release date that it will be able to be shipped out if preordered?

How's the build quality? How about the band mechanism, does it feel solid/secure?

Solid, secure and extremely comfortable. Waiting for my blue sports strap as well. Screen resolution is incredible, 100X better than the blaze

Excellent, great to hear. Just one last question, is the app gallery empty or are there some apps and clock faces already in there?

Mine was delivered and my husband took this photo. I have to now wait to unbox and see it until I get home from work. 😀

App gallery has the following preloaded apps. Starbucks, Pandora, Strava and Accuweather. Accuweather and Starbucks both setup. Pandora is next. Weather app looks great (for a smartwatch). This has a lot of potential for future apps. Wallet for NFC is not ready yet and is listed as "coming soon".

Watch faces are chosen through the app.

I'm chatting with DPD (UK) because I received the notification and I can see it on their app, but it says they haven't received it yet.

So they wrote me: "because we have not received this I am unable to guarantee the upgrade delivery. I would expect this to be received by us tomorrow".

And also: "if it is being shipped from the Netherlands it usually takes around 3 days"

So then I asked if that was the case also upgrading, and the answer was: "unfortunately this will not affect the transit time overseas".

So... I guess I'll have to wait and see. But at least now I have a tracking number and I'm glad they are using DPD!

Yes I'm a little skeptical about the upgrade, but thought why would it allow me if it wasn't possible. I will expect a refund if it doesn't arrive tomorrow though. Yes I know, why can't all couriers be like DPD.

 It fits me great!  but I do not have petite wrists. Where the Fitbit is my wrist measures about 7 inches.  And I think the color is pretty close to a copper. and it looks nice with the slate blue band. I am pretty happy so far! Now to sync it up with the app and get it started.

@RoyG96 I have not seen anywhere that NFC won't be ready at launch. That's a bit disappointing. I must have missed the memo.

Mine says the same thing, but it's also listed at the exact same entry/time I upgraded the delivery. We will see though, DPD usually text first thing in the morning with a 1 hour delivery slot.

If you download the DPD app you can upgrade within that, it's one of the many options. That's at least how I did it anyway.
