Preorder/Release Date for Ionic

Hey!  

So I am super excited by all things Ionic, but am running a race within the next 2 months. What is the release date that it will be able to be shipped out if preordered?

Mine has no updates either. Yours is probably on the way to your local Fed Ex. Mine said it arrived in Memphis then went in to transit from Memphis.

I contacted fitbit support they did not help at all.

That's odd. Must be a regional issue. I live in OH, pre ordered on Sat the 23rd with expedited Shipping, they shipped it out Monday and supposed to get it tomorrow

I have mail from dpd. Arriving in three hours from now around 12.30 pm.

Sam...when did you receive the delivery notification?  You placed your Sep 21  pre-order before Fitbit's Sept 25 press release confirming retail availability for Oct 1, so I think your's reflects their date estimate before knowing.

Sep 25 announcement was yesterday but any orders placed a day or two in advance would now reflect the known information.  

Any earlier pre-orders would go out as well I would imagine.

I think their shipment hub is Indy but I don't think geo plays a part here.

I picked tomorrow, app says they will have my parcel soon but the website says my parcel is in Oldbury with them... confused.com LOL

Yes! I upgraded delivery with PDP when I got my shipping email. They are delivering in the next 2 hours 🙂

If it's anything like any of the other mobile payment systems I wouldn't hold out much hope, at least in the UK anyway. We have the infrastructure with the majority of places accepting contactless but the negotiations with the banks are a painful process.

It's the same in Estonia. Banks are not interested in alternitive payment solutions ... unless it's something they profit from 😛

What does your tracking info say? Have they contacted you with a delivery slot?

Personally I don't think they are coming today as there is a lack of tracking activity. By this point the parcel would at least be at your local delivery depot and possibly even listed as out for delivery. Mine still states Oldbury and I haven't received a text confirming the 1 hour delivery slot.

I can say with pretty good confidence that they are not coming today. I've dealt with DPD many times in the past and like I said previously, at this point the parcel would definitely be at you local depot, arriving early hours of the morning. In my case this would be Southall, but the tracking still says Oldbury.

At a guess I would say Oldbury are the receiving depot for the international parcels, which is why it lists them as receiving the order information but not as actually receiving the package. These companies often send the paperwork in advance as it can be sent electronically, so the paperwork will arrive before they even receive the parcel. At another guess I would say the parcels will be arriving at Birmingham Airport BHX, Oldbury isn't far from there. That would strengthen my theory of Oldbury being the UK receiving depot in this case. 

DPD tracking is very good, so if it doesn't list it as being at your local depot then I can bet it definitely isn't yet. It certainly won't go straight out from Oldbury for delivery though, so there will be at least one more stop before it's out for delivery. The morning of delivery they will send you a text message or email informing you of your 1 hour delivery slot, you can then use their tracker to see where the driver is and what stop you are. We don't have any of this information yet so I really don't think today is the day.

Richmond, VA here.  I ordered the Burnt Orange version with Expedited Delivery.  I received my credit card payment advisory on 09/22.  I received the Fitbit shipping email on 09/25, stating it would be delivered on 09/27.  The 27th is here and FedEx shows out for delivery today. Should be arriving between 1 & 5!  This is almost as exciting as Christmas when I was a kid!  Fitbit got and my girlfriend got me off my butt and actively doing PE!  She bought me the Charge 2, to get my journey started, which I upgraded to the Blaze.  When the Ionic was announced, it was a logical and customer loyalty decision to purchase. As much as I like the AW3, Apple didn’t do for me, what Fitbit has already accomplished!  There was simply no choice, the Ionic was to be mine!  Thanks Fitbit!!!!!
